Dragging, Hauling and Crushing: The 2008 Carlisle All-Truck Nationals was a Smash Hit in All Aspects of the Truck Hobby

Monday, August 11, 2008

CARLISLE, PA – The 2008 Carlisle All-Truck Nationals provided a weekend of frame-dragging, load- hauling, car-crushing action for fans of all varieties of trucks. The All-Truck Nationals was held August 8-10 at the Carlisle, PA Fairgrounds. Everything from big rigs to minis including 4x4s, pick-ups, customs and classics were displayed, judged and most of all enjoyed by the thousands of spectators that came through the gates. Many truck enthusiasts came to meet legendary off-road racer and founder of the Pro-truck series Ivan Stewart. Stewart talked everything off-road with fans all weekend while signing autographs at the Magnaflow display on the Manufacturers Midway. Meredith Ochs and Chris T from Sirius Radio’s Freewheelin’ were also a huge draw, meeting with the big rig crowd at the Chrome Shop Mafia display. The Chrome Shop Mafia was the original team behind the hit TV show about tricking out big rigs for deserving owners and were back to the All-Truck Nationals to show off their big rigs that take customizing to the next level. In addition to meeting with big rig and Chrome Shop Mafia fans, Meredith Ochs and Chris T also hosted the world-famous Carlisle Burnout and Beauty contests on Saturday night.

To accompany the hugely popular special guests, the All-Truck Nationals was a show that was jam-packed with competitions, invitational displays, shows, monster truck rides and activities for the entire family that made the toughest decision of the weekend what to do or see first. From monster trucks smash sessions to a low-riding drag session, whether your passion was high or low, eye-popping competitions from all truck categories took place. Activities throughout the weekend included monster truck rides and shows; the Grave Digger simulator; rock crawl demonstrations; a high/low contest to see whose truck stood above the rest and whose low-rider rode below the bar; and a neon competition that judged which truck could light up the night. Three new additions that made an immediate impact on adding excitement to the All-Truck Nationals were a Mini-Baja course that held exhibition racing presented by Muddy Run Racing, a truck tug-o-war competition and frame dragging on Saturday night. Frame dragging is when a lowered truck rides so low that the frame of the truck shoots sparks down the road. In the controlled environment that the Carlisle Events team created, it made for an awesome and safe light show.

Make sure to mark your calendars for August 7-9, 2009 for the 19th edition of the Carlisle All-Truck Nationals. If it is possible to get more excitement into one trucking weekend, the Carlisle Events team will make it happen!
